Default How do you remove rear coat hooks?

Does anyone know how to remove the rear coat hooks that are up in the headliner? The one on my passenger side is rattling like crazy and I cannot figure out how to get it out so I can wrap it in some foam/tape. Thanks for the help!

It's been a while since I dropped my headliner but I believe there is a small cover on them and they unscrew. Either that or they are clipped in. Can't quite remember on my 04.

There's a cover on the front, you get a flat head and pop it off and there's either a screw or bolt there.

Thanks for the help guys. There is a small cover but it appears that it is a clip-type design, as there is not screw or bolt holding it in. Has anyone removed one of these?

Yeah its a clip, after you remove the cover you need to work the clip free with a small flathead screw driver.

I've removed a bunch of them, and they're ALL a gigantic pain in the ***....they break, roughly half the time, so be prepared to buy a new one...like stated earlier, pop the cover off and use a thin flat tip to pry the teeth loose on one side while pulling out, then the other side.

Stick a 3/16" wide blade screw driver into the hole and parallel to the roof, turn it 90 degrees while prying the hanger out.

Default Easy!

Just did it with things guys method. Skip to 1:10.

You just need a slim screwdriver, stick it in at the top portion of the hole, parallel with the roof. Once it goes through the bottom (you may need to bump it a few times), pry away from you, toward the door generally while wiggling it down.

Pops right out, no broken hooks.

Cheers!

Ben
