Default How do i Replace the Shift Cable on a 2004 F-150?!

My cable has been rubbing on my motor mount for who knows how long and now it snapped and i pick up the cable tomorrow and was wondering if anyone had any pointers or could direct me to a DIY page? Thanks guys appreciate it!

Default Same problem

I have same problem and cannot shift to any gear. I did move bracket on trans to get in park. Did you replace yourself and any advise or tips?

I just fixed mine with part #14041. It took 5 minutes and saved me $70.00 on a new cable.

I just fixed mine with good ole 14041 but it sounds like the actual cable is damaged from the rubbing? If thats the case you must replace.
