Default Horrible gas mileage, HELP!

I have a 2004 FX4 scab with the 5.4. I have been getting between 11-13 mpg and it is bone stock other then a catback flowmaster exhaust and 2" leveling kit. I don't have a lead foot, i am very easy on the throttle. I know its a big truck with a big motor but this seems too low. Any thoughts?

Sticker says 13 city 17 highway (on 08)...I think I usually got around 12 around the city and mines an 08 FX4...If its an 04 how many miles? Ever run injector cleaner through the motor? Spark Plugs? Air Filter? Oil Change? I have an exhaust, intake, and edge now and I think i get close to 14 in the city now when i really really nurse it.

This engine incorporates a combination of technologies to provide impressive horsepower and torque so important to truck buyers who tow or haul.

Thats froma ford dealer site. So to all the guys that are gonna jump in and before you go bashing the 5.4 about how its a dog and it loses to the dodge in 1/4 mile and blah blah blah blah blah, next time by a roush truck and take it to the drags before bitching about how slow your 5.4 stx or 4x4 is... (Pitssm, this comment is not directed to you! hang around here long enough and you will find the cult of people who cant stand their F150 4x4 on 35" tires because its slow off the line and loses to the dodge and chevy and all those other guys out at the track) They want a race truck, not a work truck.

Hope you can find a way to get better mpgs. Maybe time to trade up for the 09? err i guess it 2010 now, my buddies 09 got 20mpg on the highway off the dealer floor.

Well, tell your 7.5 to do on a diet. Is your 7.5 in a 1500 series truck?

For a gas motor, 5.4 is big. Yours is a diesel, its like comparing apples and oranges. And no I could care less about how fast my truck is, i just need a truck. If i cared about speed I would've gotten a mustang.

I might try the fuel injector cleaner, It has 75k should i be thinking of changing the plugs? No chance on getting a new one, I just got this one and its all I could afford.

Also anyone know anything about the scangauge 2? I was thinking of using is to monitor my mpg, or is there a cheaper route to do this. (besides pencil and paper)
