Exactly!!

You need to!

You should have disconnected the negative battery.

Try that and let it sit and then reattach it.

The computer needs to relearn itself

What he is saying is that your computer is operating as if you had the old plugs in there.

Now that you've changed the plugs, that variable has been changed, so your PCM needs to relearn driving conditions/trims based on this changed variable.

Edit: You mention that this tank is getting better. It'd make sense given what's being suggested. The PCM is always measuring and looking to adjust trims based on driving conditions. More than likely, with enough time, the issue would just go away on it's own, but it's better to facilitate the process by forcing a relearn shown here.

Oh okay, I understand, ya know I thought about that briefly but then didn't think about it anymore! I'll do it this afternoon and fill up and see how it goes

Just a heads up, your Throttle Body will relearn its parameters too, so don't be surprised if it dies once or twice or feels like it's going to in the next few days.

ya I have, and it's been 2 weeks since I've done the plugs and hasn't tried to die yet!
