Default Painted fender flares and cowl

Hey all!

After much research on here I decided to paint my fender flares and the wiper cowl. They came from the factory black but over time they became gray.

I used (like many others) Krylon Fusion Gloss for plastic... All I did was wipe them down and sprayed on two coats and they look great! I was debating about using Plasti Dip but wanted the gloss look.

I had called Line-x to get a quote and they wanted about $80 a piece to do them-- I just couldn't justify paying that. I know they would have lasted forever- but that wasn't for me. Plus I take pride in doing all mods myself.

I was so sick of having to use tire spray on them every other month. I think this was an awesome and very inexpensive fix.

I've heard people say things about the cowl breaking when you pull it off? True?

Looks great! Do you have a picture from farther back? I'm thinking about doing fender flares in black also (on white truck), and would like to see how it looks overall.

The only thing you have to worry about is the little rubber piece on the end of each cowl... they literally break apart when touched too much. I did paint mine and it looked fine. I was just careful when taking them off and putting them back on. Also make sure you take the jets out for the washers... Otherwise you'll be sca--rewd.

Just did this to my cowl. Used trim paint and it worked great! The middle splits in two pieces.
