A/C On/Off has nothing to do with this...I had the mechs and service manager drive it, tried every combo and still the same problem. The only left to do is start troubleshooting the exhaust components.

Yep the after market stuff was one the truck when I bought it last year!! But I am getting a CEL of both banks running rich and I am hearing a noise like my timing chain is rattling only when I accelerate! Talked to a ford mechanic today and he says that the hydraulic timing tensioners have been known to not seal properly where it meets the block which causes it not to work properly and give the timing chain alittle slack under load!
Frig at this point I am willing to try anything but those tensioners are alot of work to change out!! But only 80 bucks each!

I still have this issue as well. Gave up on it for awhile and was looking at other trucks and decided to throw on an injen intake I had in my garage. When I did this it multiplied the effect ten fold. It bogged way worse then it did with stock intake and was much more pronounced. I swaped back to stock to see if it helped and it was much better but the problem was still there too. Bought and edge programmer and reset my tire size and updated my gear ratio. Made the problem more pronounced again but didn't make it happen as much as the intake did. I set the edge display to the transmission gear indicator and I am noticing that when the truck does this issue/when I feel it happen I notice that the lock symbol is hilighting on the display and rpms drop down drastically and truck bogs. As soon as the power comes back in the lock symbol comes off and the truck goes fine again. Anyone know what that symbol is? Is the the torque converter lock symbol? I didn't receive instructions with my edge and their site doesn't have display info in detail and they aren't open until monday.

I also called ford and they assured me that having intake won't void my warranty at all. Since the problem always happens with the intake, I'm going to take it in on Friday to see if they can get this sorted out. Hopefully I can find a fix before Friday due to $$$$$ purposes sh** is obnoxious. I want to drive this truck into a wall.

I hear ya man...I was thinking about driving it off the bridge into Lake Erie.

If the intake made it worse, then it makes me believe it's something with the MAF, Throttle Body or some other related component. Or maybe head in the transmission, torque converter or transfer case direction...

It's frustrating for me to talk people over the phone and try explain this. I am currently overseas and my dad is the one describing it to me; he it took into the dealership and they charged me $500 for troubleshooting and couldn't find anything, I think they knew he wasn't mechanically inclined and may have taken advantage of that fact. The money wrapped up in this problem is getting pricey, I may end up just selling the truck when I come home in two weeks

My 05 5.4 bogged down everytime I tried hit passing gear. GET IT TUNED. The guy at the shop said that with these motors, (correct me If I'm wrong it was awhile ago) they have a engine management system of sorts. When you give it gas or accelerate harder than normal the computer takes all the timing out of the engine, makes the shift, then throws it back in. Hence the pause or *bogging*. $250 and he reprogramed everything. Shift points, the computer, corrected the speedometer and gave me 36+hp.

Any throttle by wire 5.4 I've had has been unresponsive like that.
Espically giving it throttle after a turn.
Like a hitch in a golf swing.
Dealers can only give you factory program settings.
Best advice is to get tuned.

The master tech at the dealership hooked the computer up and check the computer in Mode 6. He said nothing was wrong. All the parameters were correct and that there was nothing that he could do. I agree with both of you about reprogramming but he told me not to waste my money on that because it won't do anything.

My truck just started doing the exact same thing after sitting for 3 weeks (riding motorcycle everywhere) so I feel you guys. It feels like I've got 50,000lbs behind me and I am experiencing the whining/drone sound ZX6 is feeling. I don't know if sitting for a while did it or what but when I parked it vs now it feels like a completely different truck. Personally I'm thinking torque converter...as bad as that's gonna suck

Torque Converter was not something that I had thought of...grrreat add that to the list of things for troubleshooting and possible replacement. All of a sudden, right 125-130k, almost everything is on the truck. Might be a time for an '11
