Is your air cleaner or crankcase closed loop burning your oil up? Go to the air cleaner, see if it is peppered with oil. Go to the exhaust pipe, swab a finger in a non oiling car exhaust, rub your fingers between both soot samples. Does your exhaust feel more slippery or oily is more caked on wet than a hard, dry, exhaust tip?
musclemerc If the motor is'nt covered with oil then the exhaust must be blowing black smokw while your driving. Check your tailpipes then check your throttle body for bypass.
3wV I believe they did if thats were they add dye to the oil run it for awhile and see were the dye shows up they did that the first go round and they found faulty heads excessive side to side with the valves the to answer both of your questions it does not appear to be burning any oil no leaking thats what has them stumped it was at the dealer yesterday were they did the dye test again and the mech claims there were multiple valve cover bolts loose it went from 2 bolts last week that he tightened to multiple this week sure but I guess I have to play the game and when it goes back because it is still loosing oil and it will that will be the third time back for the same problem thats one step closer to a new truck which I really really don't want I love my truck I just hope they get it fixed
