HELP! What kind of tires should I get? 2006 f150 4WD
I have a 2006 F150 Lariat 4WD and wanted to put a pro comp 6" lift with 35's on it. I was thinking about getting Nitto Trail grapplers or another off-road tire and the guy at NTB told me they are all super loud, and the tread wears off quickly. I don't know what to do now, maybe rethinking. Anyone else run big tires on there truck and want to share what you think? Pictures would be awesome too.

Nittos dont last for dog crap. Soft rubber. And everyone is always selling their set of wheels with a worn out pair of nittos on them cuz they didnt last. Toyo owns Nitto but Toyo M/T's are awesome and a solid 60k tire. My dad has 35 toyo MT's on his titan. I personally like the Federal Couragia but you want a quiet tire. Toyo MT's are quiet for their size but still have a good low sound roar to them, nothing annoying. Anything with tread is going to have some sound. BFG Mud Terrains are decent and hold up well. All a personal taste on what you like.
If you are on a budget check out Mastercrafts MXT (Made by cooper tires here in tupelo ms)

I've got the Terra Grapplers with about 5K and there's hardly any wear at all as well....but, mine are 10ply and I run 45-50psi normally...55-65psi during hunting season (lots of back country and gravel roads)....also, rotate EVERY oil change

Terra and trail may do better, not gonna knock em they all look good, But everyone i've seen with Mud Grapplers ends up crying that they wore out to fast and selling them with 20% tread left lol.

I have 10k on my nitto trail grapplers and have to say that they ride great and provide excellent traction in all conditions. Even at highway speeds are really not loud. Yes mud grapplers are loud not trails though. I can't speak for toyo but I can for nitto and have nothing but positive feedback for them.

I Like Tires
The Toyo and Nittos are good except the Mud Grappler, but it's not meant for pavement.
I'll put a vote up for the DuraTrac, got a little over 50k miles out of mine.
A little more budget friendly would be Falken Rocky Mountains (Also sold as Wild Peaks) and some come with a mileage warranty. But they aren't my favorite tire.
Just put a set of Cooper ATP on my Mitsubishi Montero and like them so far as do my customers. Lots of good reviews and they are a great price with 55k Mile warranty.
The BFG is always good but pricey of course.
Those would be my pick.
Or Cooper STT if you want a Mud Terrain love mine. The ST Maxx is a commercial traction model that people swear by as well. Never heard a bad thing about them.

First off try discounttiredirect.com - they offer free shipping and rebates on most of their tires. I don't have any background with Nitto's so I can't help you there but I can kinda help with the Toyo MTs. The reason I say kinda is because I have recaps with the same tread pattern. I know mine are only recaps but I am impressed. They are a very hard rubber tire and I'm down to about 1/4 tread with about 35,000 miles on them. They are loud... at least the recap kind are lol. Overall I am happy with mine. Very aggressive and excellent traction off road. I am very satisfied with the tread life I got so far since I paid $500 for all 4 of my 285/70/17s...especially since I was only getting 30,000 miles at best out of my recap BFG KO treads.
With winter right around the corner I am considering getting a new set, this time I am looking at the Kenda Klever A/T KR28s. I have read a lot of reviews and so far it looks decent. $568 for 4 285/70/17s.
