I'm not exactly sure what would put you at level. Probably 2.5.

Let me ask a question. The truck says STX on the paint job but when I give my insurance people the Vin they say it's an XLT and NOT a STX.

Is that normal?

Kinda embarrassing everyone is telling me to wash it, lol.

Did you buy it brand new? First owner? The stx logo is only a sticker and can be removed if desired

Being from SC I know how the pollen is, so not really embarrassing. Mine is getting rain washed today. You'll like it more once it's all cleaned up. I had a sedan I despised, paid someone to come detail it so I could sell it, and it made me fall back in like with it (even though I didn't want to.)

The insurance thing is weird because your premium is based on the package. Was the STX and XLT package drastically different in 07?

I bought it in 07, and it is an 07, but it did have a previous owner but they only put 6000 miles on it. But as far as the sticker, that has always been confusing to me because I think it's an STX but the insurance companies say it's an XLT.

I'm not sure. My finance company ran mine as a king ranch and it's a lariat. They valued it at about $21k.

Yeah I can always remove the STX and put 4X4, lol.

So back to getting started. 2.5" front lift sounds right? Is it wise or not to change wheel size? I have 17" wheels now.

If you change them, get 17s or bigger. 16s probably won't fit.

I had an STX that I did 2.5" on... If I had to over again, I would've just done 2". The front sat almost a half inch higher that the back despite a 3" difference between front and rear at stock heights. Then anytime you had a little bit of weight it was way noticeable. Go with 2, I think you'll be happy. Ran 285/70/17 tires just fine. If you go any bigger than that, you'll likely need to regear.

I'm assuming you have the 4.6L? If you already said so, I apologize as I was skimming through.
