Default HELP!!! Leveling kit problems.

Hey guys New to the Forum, just wondering i got a 3 inch leveling kit from HBS (Hell Bent Steel) and it seems like when i get the extention on and replace eveything the lower strut bolt is extremely hard to get in (pry bar is needed) and all my steering components look like they are under a ton of pressure....will it eventually straighten out when the wheels get on it and its on the ground?

Thanks Guys -Rob-

Default leveling tension

i work for les schwab tires in northern cali and install leveling kits all the time and personally put one in my 04 super crew and there will still be some tension but most of it should go away when you put the truck down on the ground if you go any more than the 3 inch then you would have real problems

Yes it will level it out once its on the ground.Imo you should have went with the 2.5HBS kit.Going with that kit would have made for a better level. Now with the 3inch level kit, your nose will sit higher now to the point you will notice. Now fine if your going for that look. With that 3inch level, your maxed out on upper control arm stretch.Would have been better with the 2.5.Did you use any thread locker or no?Dont have to of course, just a good rule of thumb

i really want to go with the 3 inch but i dont know that i want my front end to be maxed out...i sorta want the nose alittle higher thats how we run our mudrace trucks.. i dont think it would be a good idea to run maxed out and pulling a trailor alot though??..

IMO 3" is really stretching it. If you want the nose higher and you are a 4x4 remove the rear blocks.

Personally I wouldnt run a billet aluminum level kit, just to prevent a galvanic cell from developing with the other steel parts. This won't happen if the spacer is anodized correctly, the other suspension parts are still powdercoated, and/or you don't live in an area with heavy road salt usage. When I decide to get a leveling kit, I will probably go with an autospring because of several reasons; its steel, they have powdercoated ones, and the reputation of autospring level kits and customer satisfaction. From what I have read, HBS are good too. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUTO-...Q5fAccessories
