Where is the break? Are you talking about the steel on the frame, or the aluminum on the axle assembly?
If you're talking about the steel, yes, it can be welded right where it is.
If you're talking about the aluminum, yeah, that can be welded too, but it would need to be removed and probably heated up as a unit to do it right. Welding aluminum from what I understand, is somewhat of an art. And if I had to go that far, I think I'd just get another axle assembly to put in there. Thery're all over Ebay. Just get the correct axle ratio to match the rear
