I know this is a old thread. but it might help someone. My 2005 DPFE sensor is built into the top of the egr valve. this looks to be the same as the pictured here. I'm not shure if all are this way now or not. The parts houses show one and will sell you one.
Hope this helps someone.

Thanks dirtx. I was scratching my head thinking I was blind looking for it. But it goes to show that even old threads getting answered will help someone else out. Appreciate the info!

Yes... It's near or on the EGR valve. I had one fail on my old 2001 Ranger. On that engine, it was a couple of screws and hoses (plus an electrical connection). Pops right out.
Do a Google Images search for "2007 F150 DPFE" or similar. There are many web sites that explain where it is. 5 minute fix most likely.
I would also check any hoses that connect to the EGR circuit while you're in there.
My Ranger had a huge split in the EGR line and it was concealed by the upper radiator hose. And most likely the heat from that hose its what caused the split (the radiator hose sat directly on top of that EGR line). I'm also guessing that's why the DPFE failed so soon.
If you suspect any leaks, you can always do the 'starting fluid trick' too. Spray around the engine hoses while it's running and see if your engine RPM goes up. If it does, you found a leak.
