Default Help..dust collector? Canister?

My manual says there is a dust collector in the evap system..I have evap code...replaced gas cap..no go. Next is the canister and dust collector..there were no Picts so I am not sure what that is? any suggestions. Is there any way to clean this part of evap system without replacing the canister. Is there a trick or special tool need to remove the lines to these?

I got into some deep water while rescuing flooded cars during flash flood..no good deed goes unpunished....could the canister or dust collector have water in them? Truck actually stalled at one point so was not always pressurized during the high water...about bed deep. Any help on how to proceed would bed appreciated.

If you think it might be water, run a few tanks with Seafoam or Dry Gas in the tank. That'll absorb it.

Online the canister looks like a torpedo...can it be washed out or opened...from some YouTube vids of other models looks like maybe if water gets in it can mold & clog the system. Anyone ever clean one? 2006 F150 5.4 triton XLT

Just watched a video where they added seafoam directly into the brake booster vacuum tube..do you think this would work better?

I do that at oil change times myself and from what I understand it is for the intake system, don't think it will help on the evac canister though. I would run some dry gas through, sounds like water got in somewhere.

That probably won't do anything for the vapor canister. The vacuum line rights straight into the engine and doesn't touch the vapor canister at all. You need to start at the vapor canister itself or the gas tank.
