Ran a Carfax on both.... Interesting to say the least. The Lariat comes back as a 2005, decent service records showing that the plugs were replaced by the dealer twice. Latest at 85K.

The FX4 comes back as an 04 as he said it was, but shows the vehicle as having 170K at last years inspection/registration. And 150K the year before and so on and so forth. WTH? Is the guythinking he can really get away with that? Did he alter the odometer? His pictures of the odometer show it at 129,xxx.

Confused and upset!

I would go with the modded one with raptor wheels. If he cared about it that much he probably kept up on the preventive maintenance like oil changes and such. Also he probably did take it off road but I mean the truck can handle it much better than if the stock truck went off road which is also a probability.

Didnt see this when I did my first post. My guess is that the pic with 130k is from long ago.

If he is posting it with a pic of 129XXX on the odo and carfax shows 170K.......run. Run far, run fast.

Add in the engine change for unknown reasons, etc..... too many red flags.

I would confront the guy with the fx4 and tell him what you found out with the fx4 and see what he says.. that seems very fishy!

After reading all of this I stand by my first post, the FX4 was def run hard. I think the Lariat is going to be much better for the money, that being said whatever you can save on the price of the lariat can be put toward mods.

WAY to many red flags. Knew it was to good to be true...

He keeps saying that the Carfax must show miles from the old motor... Keeps saying that it runs real good no problems... BS! One of two things, I will show up and see that is has close to 200K (170K was reported 08/2011) and tell him he is a liar and to screw off. Or number two, I show up and see that the odometer has 130K. If that is the case, cops will be called and he will be turned in for odometer fraud!

Agreed.. Only downfall of the lariat is that awful color. I could get used to it, but definitely not preferred.

Found a couple old body style Screw's in town last night.. 02 King Ranch that's bone stock. Nasty Green color though. Or an 01 Lariat with a 4 inch lift. White... Calling for price and mileage today. Really want the new body, but I wont buy one unless I have something to compare it too...

I would get the Lariat just because of the wicked awesome leopard print floor mats!

I like the look of the old body but I say stay away. I saw the YouTube crash test video and that was enough for me. The entire truck crumpled like a econo car! Look up the video on YouTube. I posted it a few years back.

In regards to those to trucks you posted, I'd get the Lariat but not a fan of gold color. The fx4 has some cool mods but I don't like the extreme suspension mods in the bed. I like my truck bed to be functional for hauling purposes
