Help! Ac pulley/clutch
Hey all,
I need some help with an issue that arose a few days ago with my 08 XLT 5.4. From my diagnosis I've come to the conclusion that my AC pulley/clutch have gone bad. Ford is pricing it out at $570 to replace and with speaking with one of the mechanics in town I was told to replace all pulleys/tensioner while I was having it done. Basically what it comes down to is that I don't want to dish out $1000 to fix a problem in a truck with 56k miles. So, has anyone done this themselves and/or is replacing the entire compressor easier than trying to rebuild the clutch and replacing the pulley/bearing? Thanks for the help everyone.

Compressor isn't hard to replace.....it's everything else you have to replace while you're in there. I replaced my Compressor, orifice tube and accumulator for 150. Evac/flush and refill was 90
