Did alot of research on leveling when I had a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 and went with HBS 2" level and it was perfect. My son got a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 last year and we did the same leveling kit for his and he loves it.

I went with the rough country 2.5 on my 04. I thought it sat a tad higher in the front and added a 1" shackle on the rear. I'm running 285/65/20s and couldn't be happier.

My truck needs shocks so that is why I was leaning towards the Rough Country since it came with shocks.

I will double check to see if I need 2.5" or 2"; been reading mainly 2.5" for most guys.

What did you think of the off-brand one?
--I saw some on eBay as inexpensive as $40 but not sure what to expect. Which one and how much did you spend on it?

My truck has 185K so that's why i am going with a leveling kit.
Personally I think it has too many miles to spend $1500 on a 4 inch suspension lift (that's what I want though).

Do you have a picture of the 2" rough country you just put on your 04 screw?

This is just like the kit I got, only the 2.5" version because it sounds like you are looking for level. Like I said I still like a little bit of rake so i went with the 2". I call it "off brand" because it does not list a brand when you buy. The one that I got came with no markings on it but with what appeared to be photo copied Hell Bent instructions. Everything fit perfect and i had it on in 30 minutes per side.

I would suggest you have a regular floor jack and some jack stands. I would not suggest you try to do it on the F150 emergency jack.

Another thing, I do not know how people do it without taking the strut assembley completly off. Watched a couple of youtube videos that showed them doing it without them taking the entire setup out and it is beyond me.

And finally, make sure you have all of the deep well sockets it calls for. I only had a shallow 21mm available to me at the local part store and was able to make it work, but it was a . I torqued everything down but when I took it in for my allighment the next day, i had them double check everything.

Sorry, no idea why it did all of that. Maybe a Moderator can fix the post so it shows up right.

I put the 2.5 HBS on my truck with 285-70-17 tires made it pretty level. Everyone thinks my truck is 4x4. Almost out of these tires I'm thinking bigger for the next of tires; however, even these still rub a little.

here are a couple pics of my 35x12.50x18. i have a 2" rough country level kit. granted the tires only have 30% tread left on them but i got them and the rims for $100. had rub but it wasn't nothing a box knife and 3 stitches in my finger couldn't fix. not sure of the offset but i love the way they stick out.

Wow I'd love to find a set of tires and rims at that price. I've been looking for some 35's to fit the stock 17" rims ( I like the rims and have other mods to do before new rims), but I cannot find anything without spending $1200 on a new set.

Also thanks to everyone for the help. I am leaning towards either the HBS or rough country leveling kit.
I think I like them leveled more than with the rake.
