Default Heater core leak, I think.

Couple weeks ago I smelled antifreeze in the cab of my truck but could not find a leak, wet floor or a loss of coolant. Well the smell went away and is now back but stronger. I now have noticed a loss of antifreeze but still no wet floor. I finally noticed some water coming out where the ac condenser drains. It was more than the normal ac amount. So my question is could it be the heater core? Also does it have a drain built in for it to drain outside the cab and not onto the floor now? Any help would be appreciated before I go through the hassle of changing the heater core.

Did you ever find out what the issue was?

Your description of the issue sounds EXACTLY like my issue....

The OP was last on this site 2 years ago, and it's a 5 year old post. Long shot that he will be back...

Default I wonder if you can block your heater hoses/ modify until you can get to pull core .

I saw where one guy cut into his heater hose and added a valve on one side to get heat out of cabin to help ac performance . Never heard if it worked .
We used to do this on the old cars but these hoses seem harder to deal with .
And yes the heater core leak can run out on the ground just like the ac condensate water does .
You tube may have a video on core change ?

Default Good to know it really didn't help much

May save someone the bother of trying that.
