I tapped into the 12v ignition on the radio so if I forget the seats on before getting out, they won't have any power running to them. And I leave the switch always on so when I start my truck in the morning, by the time I get in the seats nice and warm.

I heard that on leaving them on so the will be nice and warm when you get in!!! I gave my youngest son my 2005 F150 and he wants them in there. I like where you put the buttons for the heat to. Was it hard to drill the holes out for the buttons? Thanks

Well. I used a dremel lol. It worked! But I think that's where the buttons go with oem heated seats because behind the radio bezel there's actually two plugs plugged in where Icut my holes (which Im assuming are for oem heated seats). You'll see what I'm talking about when you pull it off. But the kit came with stickers that I stuck on to the bezel to outline the holes I needed to cut. after that they just slide in! I'm gonna go find that how to on the install. I would avoid cutting the hot rings if I were you though. I just slid the pads in and peeled the double sided tape and stuck it on.

There ya go! Only difference is I didn't cut the hot rings, I wires mine up to 12v ignition on the radio, and I ran my wires down the centre console rather than under the carpet. My way just seemed easier.

Funny, my truck ('05 Lariat) came with heated seats, I never use the damn things even though it's been below zero here for the last couple of nights...lol

We are going to replace the drive seat cover as we do this. I work for JCI we build the seats for the Ford Superduty trucks so I have access to a hog ring gun and will be able to do them quick. Just wasn't sure on the routing of the wires. He wants to also make the rear seats in the truck heated so we are doing them in the process. Kid is making the truck nice. Thanks for all the info on how to wire it up.

I'm curious as to what the OEM switches look like. I've only seen heated seats with the electonic climate control starting in 06.

This picture is not from my truck but it looks the same, the buttons are on the bottom row on each end.

What's that button beside the cigarette lighter? Looks like the hazard light button but that's on the column is it not?
