They do fade but, I have been using the black restore from Bondo since new and they still look new. My windshield cowl was a mess and the black restore is a pain to apply there so, I removed and painted that, which made it look new again.

The heat gun trick is temporary, just like everything else except paint is. Just expect to either need to redo it or paint it soon.

Lol just simple if he can find cheap factory painted ones he likes. Less prep than actual painting. Soapy water, rubbing alcohol, and dip vs sanding priming and painting.

I guess so. With spray cans I rarely prime anymore since most paints have primer in them.

In the old thread about heating up plastic people swore up/down that "heating" was the thing to do..now everyone in this thread is saying to paint it...smh
