Default Heat, A/C not working properly

2008 F150 STX 4.6 V8

The other day my heat was on and the dial was set at # 2, there was a click/clunk sound, and I realized it stopped putting out air. I turned the dial up to full blast at #4 and it worked normally. I tested it on all other settings and nothing works on #1 or #2 anymore.

Again, The heat and A/C work completely normal when the left dial is set to #3 or #4, but does nothing at #1, or #2.

Any thoughts on what happened or what needs fixed would be appreciated. Thanks!

(if this was in a previous thread sorry, I searched and didn't see anything this specific)

Blower motor resistor. It's behind the glovebox, real easy to change, and costs about $15.

My 06 the speeds 1 2 3 put the same amount of air and 4 is full blast. The low speeds are next to no air. Would this be the same resistor? Where did you get the part online or local for price

It sure sounds like the blower motor resistor is what you need. I got mine at Autozone for $12.99

I used part number JA1499.

Here is a link to the procedure.
