Seems at idle I have a very faint knock in the vents/ behind the dash is this the "mouse" noise everyone talks about with the blend door? Just has me curious

Do you have problems with your heat as well...mine either blows super hot or straight cold, nothing in the middle (dont mean to jack your thread)

NOt sure if your is digital or not but on 60* (max cold) it's still cold, but the first nudge of a button up 65* it isn't cold. Sounds like the same problem

Yes it may be your blend door. You can still get hot and cold but what your hearing is it actuating.

I believe it is easily accessible behind the glove box.

I replaced the one on my Crown Vic. The actuator stuck in Hot which doesn't work for me so well here in TX..... What a PITA. It gave me no warning before hand neither.

Mines more like a thump thump thump, about 3 times. I guess it's either opening or closing.

I would have to go all the way to cold to get cold and anything more then a quarter turn towards warm would cycle warm and full on hot... Piece is about $30 and took 45mins ~ to replace. Not hard just really tight space.
