Default Headlights won't work

Hey guys, new f150 owner here. Bought a 2004 f150(nbs) couple days ago. Found out when I got home with it the headlights don't work! It won't work in auto mode or manual mode. Neither low beam or high beam works an the high beam indicator in dash doesn't light up either. The fog lights an parking lights work as normal. So my first thought was fuse but couldn't find any blows ones. So I decided to check the switch. I took it out an used a diagram to jump the connectors for the diagram an walla headlights. So I thought switch was bad. Bought new switch an installed still same problem??? So I'm kinda lost any ideas on what it could be? Could it still possibly be a relay or the automatic sensor? I felt that if it was the auto sensor the manual mode should still work? Thanks for the help!

Did you try swapping the relay? That could be your problem.

When mine didn't work it was a bad bulb and blown fuses. But don't think bad bulbs your problem. Check the relay?

It's I believe the third grey relay on the top row. Don't quote me on that tho. You can YouTube the Bambi mod and he points out the headlight relay.

It is in the fuse box, but unfortunately I am on a business trip and my 05 wiring diagram is back in my garage. I'll check back in on Friday to see if you resolved the problem. If not I can check the diagrams then. Should be close to your 04.

I know this forum is a great place to find answers, but for the life of me, why don't you people go to your local auto parts store and spend $20 on a Chilton or Haynes manual. They have wiring diagrams and all sorts of good useful info that pertains to your vehicle. Sorry I don't mean to come off as a smart *** but if you'd get one and look through it you will learn a whole lot of basic info on your vehicle. A little self help goes a long way. Then, if you can't find the info on your problem, then ask away. You'll find that while searching for info on one problem you will retain bits of other info as well that may help you with a different problem later down the road. And in so doing, save you valuable time.

just my $.02

And good luck with your headlights and yes it does sound like a relay issue. I'll see if I can find you some pics of where it may be located.

Ok.... Twoods try this link

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/rep...nfoLanding.jsp

It is to autozone's website they have a repair guide section. On the left hand side of the screen click on vehicle repair guides under Select a Catagory. You'll have to create an acct (it's free) but you can put in your vehicle and it will give you a step by step procedure for the replacement of the relay and part #s. Also usually photos of what to look for. Hope this helps.
