Are you running HID lights?

So it ran fine and I drove it a little yesterday, then it started doing it again. The headlights start flickering and voltage at battery jumping all around. So today I found all grounds and cleaned them and it's still doing it. With the engine off I test continuity from the neg post on battery to the engine and chassis and these test good. I test continuity from the pos post on the battery and also have continuity to the engine. This makes me think a bad wire some where. In tracing down wires I pull the battery connections from the pos terminal and everything tests fine disconnected, However, I test continuity from the pos post in the battery to the engine block with nothing connected to it and still have continuity. Any idea what is going on here?

I pulled the alternator out last night and it's got a bad bearing. So it's getting replaced, don't know if it's causing my charging problem, but we'll find out.

Certainly possible. A bad bearing effects the internal loads and that can effect the output.

Put the newly rebuilt alternator in tonight and then drove about 10 miles. It's charging good so far. The rebuild shop where I got it at said they see a lot of them come through. By the way, I got a rebuilt from them for $130. The cheapest rebuilt from the parts store was $240.

Hope you got a good warranty. Most bad alternators I see are rebuilt.
