Lightbulb headlight bulb keeps on going off

hi i have a 2005 f-150 and my headlight bulb keeps on going off it burned my last wire harness sockets because of some after market lights i bought so i upgraded to a upgrade wire harness that its for aftermarket, hid, high watts bulbs etc and it worked fine for two days and then one light went off i put a extra bulb i had and i worked fine for like 1 hour then i put another one because i had extra bulbs and it worked for about the same 1 hour i then remove the headlight and checked the socket and it was burnt again i checked the other one and it was fine no problems so i switched the bulbs because i had ran out and then i found out that the bulb worked fine and once i put the bulb on the bad socket i burned again in a hour im so frustrated with this i dont know what it is can anyone help me out on this

Whats the wattage of the lights? Was the harness "plug and play"? It sounds like your running lights that are to bright or someone fudged the harness install.

It sounds like, at first, you need to replace the bad socket first. Then you can see if there are still issues with the system.

i think you problem is that your sockets you put in are good for the lights, but i doubt the stock wiring is up to par... maybe it is just my opinion

yea thats the trouble with upgrading to anything that draws more power or anything of that nature with electricity, it will work for a while but if it cant handle it you'll find out soon enough
