Default Are headers worth it

I am getting ready to have a reman engine put in my 05 screw 4x4 then it is going to exhaust shop for true duals I pull a few trailers sometimes and just daily drive so wondering if headers are worth the money in my situation my stock manifolds have 277000 on them if it matters

A friend of mine had a 2005 5.4L which he towed a 5th whl with. He thought the headers would be a good idea, but told me it was a waste of time/money. No real performance gain he could see either in power or MPG.

if the reman'd engine does not have manifolds on it and your current set has cracks in them, i guess you could think of putting a header on. But shorty's make little to no difference, if you go with a full long tube setup with custom exhause you might gain some, but not a whole lot.
