Default Have you seen this problem on F150's before...

Just going over the few problems I have had since I bought my 2008 F150 STX 4x4 in April of 2008. The biggest problem was the ignition system that detects the chip in the key malfunctioned and it would not want to start several times. I had to get the keys reprogrammed and now it starts like a champ every time. I though something bad happened when it first did that
Lastly, the black paint on the F150 side emblems and tailgate emblems seems to peel off within a year. Easy to fix but irritating problem.
Anyone else have trouble with the ignition system like I have? It actually caused the truck to randomly shut off a few times at a stop light. Not fun.

Never heard or experienced the ignition problem. I think you just got unlucky there. The paint flaking off is pretty common problem i see though. Not sure why it happens. Like you said, easy fix but annoying. If you are still under warranty, i would take it to a dealer and try to haggle them into new badges. But then you gotta spend a day at a dealer. Up to you.

I have a 2008 F150 4x4 STX as well and I have no problems, I would def have the dealer look at it man.

my dealer replaced most of the exterior badges including the "Ford" grille emblem no questions asked.. at almost the end of my warranty ..... as well as some of the dash control ***** that were a little worn.

It's not like the labor and parts come out of the dealer's pocket..... it's pay labor for them (from Ford factory).

Yeah the ignition problem got fixed last year. They reprogrammed the computer and keys and now it works great. Just was wondering if you guys had any kind of problem like that. Oh well, there is always a first for someone
Anyone have those General All Terrain tires that come stock on the F150 4x4? Just curious how they hold up overtime. Sorry to change the main question on this thread.
