Default This has been beat to death but

I just can't find the correct response just a lot of beating around the bush. May be wrong but ..here goes..Okay I have Champ 7989's in now and have worked very well I have 241 grand on the clock and I get 18-19 on hiway at 2 grand. I would like to put Motorcraft in. I have replaced the plugs at 170 and the first owner replaced the Motorcraft at 80 grand. Both plugs worked well but I want to put in one piece plugs. I just had a friend go through the motorcraft plug deal with the two piece and he put anti-sieze at the previous change and two still broke after 50 grand. So does motorcraft make a one piece. I don't need a opinion just the fact on what I asked. If not I'll put the champs back in. Thanks

Still no answer..515's are two piece. So I take it that Motorcraft does not make one piece. I have never seen an answer to this here. Just a roundy round discussion. Does anyone know? Okay found this..https://www.f150forum.com/f61/motorc...-plugs-130615/ Found on ebay for 8 bucks apiece. OOPs just found out dealer says 515's are two piece just built different. I am staying with the Champions. and accel cops. Thanks.

One piece plugs are only for the head resign that happened in late 07 and 08. The SP 515's are two piece, but will be fine. I think a lot has to do with the plug removal process more than the two piece plugs when breaking them.

To really answer your question, the motorcraft 515 are the redesigned plug for these trucks prior to 07, where ford redesigned the head. The old plugs(i beleive 505? Dont quote me on that) but they were such close tolerance to the inside of the head that carbon would build up over time and as you tried to unscrew them, that carbon would get stuck in the threads and eff up the whole situation. These newer 515's have a smaller collar and you will not have the same problems, and to add there really is no resion with proper maintenance to replace them before 100k. Hope this helps

Anti-seize is your friend... and I believe I read something about a suggested 60K mile change now vice 100K.

Okay thanks..Still I have no clue what is one piece and what is two piece so I am tossing the Champs back in they have worked well for the last 50 thou. Just wanted to throw in the OEM. But sans an answer the champs are back in. They had 50 grand on them and they came out well still no problems with them just thought 50 grand was time to change put new accels on also as the old ones(Accel ) were 50 grand also. No problems with them at all.
