I heard that the new 5.0 shares the same bellhousing, but have not found any facts to back it up.

i guess i was just hoping there was a "easy" swap out there. I'll save the "pain in the ***" swaps for my Bronco II with a 5.0 and fullsize truck axles.

I am taking it to the shop on tuesday, the parts are under warranty, but I'll still have to pay labor.

funny story, I borrowed my old explorer (my parents use it around their farm) so i would have something to drive to work. 01 sport 2wd with almost 200,000 miles. pull up in my driveway, and it pukes out all the antifreeze. so today i got to install a water pump. well, technically still installing a water pump. came inside for a break, its too damn hot outside.
Swap out is not a big deal, 5.4 torque converter has different stall, coils are different but will plug in to old you will need to replace. You will need to find a engine with ECM, check bolt holes for torque converter with ring gear. Will bolt up to trans. I'm going the others way 4.6 in place of 5.4
