Default Has anybody on this site done this mod...

hey guys i was look on the f150online website and i cam across this, has anyone done this mod it looks like it would work and be alot cheaper than a full kit, maybe you could get a new intake tube with this but it would prob save a hundred dollars or so... not sayin im gonna do it but it did catch my interest

I don’t know, it seems like a lot of work when you can pay a little over $200 and get a custom made CAI made and dynamometer tested specifically for your truck.

i dont see it as alot of work, but im like you its prob worth payin just a little more for a whole kit

Well I guess I should have said more work than standing outside waiting for the Fed Ex guy to show up, with screw driver, and socket set in hand, and 30 minutes of your time to install it. No having to check, recheck, double check, triple check to make sure it all works.

it seems like it would get dirtier quicker with that setup since its just a totally exsposed filter when the K&N kits have some sort of housing to them.
