Default has anybody done an elec fan like this

I am looking to add an elec fan and eliminate my belt driven fan on my 4.6. Has anybody had any dealings with doing this? This is what I found on ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-F150-ELECTRONIC-COOLING-FAN-KIT-MORE-MPG-MORE-HP-97-08-/110989569507?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19d77e6de3
Let me know what you think?

Don't waste your money on those. They are way under power and lack of efficient design.
Do a search on here you will find a few E-fan conversions. The best E-fan is Motocraft E-fan from a 2010 F-150. and Painless controller.

I did this conversion. Love every minute of driving.

I have the DDC FK 75 controller and it works great and Brian is a great guy to deal with!

Absolutely. Taking the belt driven fan off reduces stress on the engine (additional horsepower), keeps the engine bay cooler (also cooler A/C), and frees up a bunch of space under the hood.

Plus you can take it a step further like some people and wire in override switches for the fans. They can them turn them on/off whenever they want or just let it be auto on/off.

E-fans will still have a draw on Hp, but minimal since it's using the electrical system instead of the crank to drive the fan. With a clutch fan it will always be drawing resistance while the engine is running. An e-fan will not. My buddy swapped all of his 67 and 68 Camaro's over to e-fans before he passed. You could feel a little difference, but it was only minimal. His engines seemed to spool faster when he floored it, but you have to remember he had the old GM clutch fans. 20+ lbs a piece.
