That 35% off code makes the TPS sensor only $45 so I will pick it up tomorrow and let you know what happens. Oh, and about the slight rough idle. I cleaned the throttle body a while ago and it idled perfectly smoothly but was back to rough after less than a week. I assume this makes a stronger case for replacing the TPS right?

Any luck?

Get the transmission fluid changed, Throw some lucas transmission fix in it as well, mine would do like a rumblestrip feeling downshifting on the highway. After the fluid change and some lucas to clean it up, it stopped acting up.

I replaced the TPS today and so far no change in symptoms, aside from a check engine light because I misaligned the sensor the first time around. There is mostly new fluid in the transmission since I have been slowly changing the fluid after installing a drain plug and filter.

Well that sucks.. If voltage is good, and TPS is not to blame, then maybe it's time to focus on that tranny....
Do you have a tuner? If you do, you could try turning the shift pressure for the 1-2 shift up, drive it, let it bang into gear a few times, then turn it back down.. This can be a bit risky, but it may help purge the check ball if it is just sticky.. No guarantee that this will work, but I do surmise that it could..
If you do have a tuner, just to see if it is tune related, you could reload the tune, and possibly set the shift pressure for the 1-2 shift down a notch..
It does not really seem to be tune related according to your past description, so shy of changing the throttle body (which could also help) I'm running out of suggestions..

Well when changing the throttle position sensor the bottom screw broke so I have pulled the throttle body and I'm going to drill out the old screw and see if a good cleaning helps. Is there any point in trying to clean/lube the motorized parts of the throttle body?

I finally got around to testing the charging system and im seeing 13.75 - 13.77 volts at idle. Is this an OK reading?

I don't have a tuner, so that's out. Is there a way to clean the check ball without dropping the transmission?

Since I'm on my phone and can't remember if I mentioned this or not, the issue started after the second pan drain and fill. Unfortunately I forgot the filter had already absorbed all it was going to and slightly overfilled it. I drained it again a couple days later after noticing the hard shift which I blamed on overfilling. Since then the fluid is at the proper level and looks ok but it still intermittently over revs and bangs into second.

No don't lube any of the internals on the TB. Just clean the outside..

Now Considering you overfilled the tranny....
Overfilling could have caused some foaming and frothing.. You may have an air bound issue, or a tiny bubble.. Have you tried shifting through every gear manually??? I honestly think this hard shift will work itself out on its own if it initially started from an overfilled tranny..

That's what I figured ill take some throttle body cleaner to it tomorrow and let you know how it goes. I did run it through the gears manually but it didn't seem to change anything. Ill take it out now and see if I can work the gears some more. Should I let the engine over rev a bit while manually shifting gears or just keep it steady?

Bring the revs up and drive a little bit in each gear, it shouldn't take much.. How many miles has it been harsh for?

Just went out and did that, seemed to help. But we shall see if it still is better tomorrow after the throttle body is cleaned up and the screw replaced.

The shift hash been hard for a little less than 1000km... so about 600 miles.
