Guys, I'm looking to purchase a new a live data OBD scanner so I can diagnose ignition issues, but I'm also thinking I should consider an Edge or Gryphon since they can do some of the live data/code reading I need plus they could increase performance. My question is, does the edge /gryphon really give noticeable performance advantages with towing? If the effect is marginal, then I will go with a wifi OBD live reader that will allow me to create a custom LCD Dashboard on my spare unused iPad.

Any thoughts would be well received.
