Default Grinding while coasting

06 f150 4x4 w/117k miles makes a grinding noise when letting my foot off the gas but today it stopped because I put it in neutral. I've had my passenger side actuator changed close to a month ago and was thinking it might be the driver side but why would it go away when I put it in neutral.

Same thing happened in one of my old Jeeps it ended up being the bearing on the rear yolk.

I don't feel anything loose and I don't off-road. I use my truck a lot for work and mainly drive on pavement. I live in New Orleans so there's a lot of pavement. The grinding happens when my truck is pretty much coasting after I let off the gas, as if I might be preparing to break or even slow down a tad. I can also hear it out my window and it could be from the middle to the front. I thought it was my actuator trying to engage but all 4x4 system is in good shape and pretty much every part for it replaced. Maybe it is the slip yoke bearing, I'll have to check it out or bring it to my mechanic. If anyone can help verify or suggest what to look for or where to look I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Try driving off road to see if it goes away. Damage is already done if pumpkin is worn.
