Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I guess it is funny that the more you spend for a vehicle the more you will have to spend to maintain it.

I would be happy with a basic extended cab 2WD if it would treat me good.

That's where I went, from the Honda dealer and no looking back. By FAR the most problem free car I have owned (if I could get my wife to stop hitting truck tire treads in the road).

What's that age old expression? "You have to pay to play." or "You wanna ride like a sport, you have to pay like a sport."

Yeah, I found that one out with my 2 Mustang's. I had no problems with my 94 F-150 and nothing untill over 125K Miles on my 97 f-150. I guess I just got to much crap with this one.

At least I can have some fun test driving stuff after I sell this beast. What would you say is the best truck out there right now?

I have had every american product and some are great and some are not...the gm 3.8L motor was almost flawless for decades, as was the chrysler/jeep 4.0L inline 6, etc. but I have had both a pontiac grand prix gtp and a jeep cherokee and both had major electrical failures between 70-90K miles. My 06 f150 has 100K miles (new plugs) and has not had one component failure yet and it is a 4x4 king ranch with lots of parts that can break... I am afraid it is just a gamble, and you just paid $400 to fix a known flaw on your vehicle and are going to sell it to replace it with potentially other unknown flaws on something else...unless you have major drivetrain failure, I see no reason to sell. Every forum for every auto company makes them look like they are all junk. Obviously more people come on forums with their problems than with happy stories...

I would really say that the best truck on the market is probably going to be entirely up to you. I personally test drove all the full sized trucks NEW (Ford, Dodge, GM, Yota) and ended up purchasing a USED F150 Lariat since it rode the best out of all of them even though it had 30k on it.

I would test drive everything and make up your own mind. Do not let people's opinions of other trucks litter what you could conceivably think is the best vehicle you have ever driven. I am a fair person and I gave every manufacturer's truck a fair shot. I purchased an F150 and THEN asked for people's opinions.

You have always had great advice and are always very knowledgeable so I trust what you are saying. This is my first 4x4 and I have not really taken the time to study the components piece by piece like I should have. I can't take apart an engine and rebuild it but I do think i know more then most of the people selling the parts around here. I have been customizing cars since I was 12 with my dad and I carried that in to adult hood. At this point I am really just looking for a good dependable vehicle that won't spend more time in the shop then out.

If you want a new truck purely to get a new truck, then that is super...
If you are doing it to save money on repairs, the cost of trading in or selling your truck outright and then getting another, likely newer truck cant be of any financial savings, in fact will make your $400 cost nothing in comparison....having one vehicle problem under warranty to me doesnt justify selling a vehicle....but again, if you are just tired of your truck and looking for a change, then by all means enjoy life and get whatever you want....
