Did you have a chance to test your IWEs and see if the noise goes away in 4x4? I replaced both of mine this weekend because I was having similar problems and noises at low speeds. Even though my 4x4 and 2x4 worked just fine, one or both of my actuators must have been partially faulty because now that they are both new and it's quiet as a church mouse.

I have this issue, interment grind, Drag coming to stop. Everytime I took it to dealer it would quit. Today the tech was able to hear and feel it. Something with the 4x4 system. He would switch 4x4 selecfor to 4x4 and the noise quit. Taking truck back tomorrow for service. 14,000 miles on truck.

This is exactly what mine was doing. Not sure which actuator was bad, or if they both were, but replacing them cured the problem completely.

I know it sucks but I'm 99% sure your having the exact same problem. When i was pulling out of a parking space, parking lot, or driveway at low speeds or a stop and turning the whole truck would shake and vibrate almost skip. Did a ton of research prior to taking it in because i knew the dealership would give me some BS. The rear ends in the 04'-08' are commonly known for this problem.. If you dont have the $$ to take it in to be fully repaired then I know some people have had luck with putting Friction Modifier in the rear end and that got them by for a few months.. Hope this helps. Let me know!

I changed my fluid a few months ago probably like 8 months or so and well I had a little winter incident which left me with snow drifts up to the side of my doors well short story is I had to do quite a bit of revving to get out had to go From drive brake then reverse brake forward and reverse to break free my truck from the hellhole it got into so idk if I fried the fluid or anything is it possible? I'm afraid the clutch pack might be going but funny crap is that sometimes it won't vibrate when I turn I tried it tonight at an intersection and it wouldn't do it. My truck is a temperamental bad word..I have always had a little shudder in my truck ever since I had a rear brake caliper lock up on me and the stupid place that fixed it pulled my driveshaft out idk why they did. But ever since I had that put back in I get a tiny shudder at takeoff.

I dont see you burning up the fluid but all that forward and back movement trying to get out could have put a lot more stress on the clutches..The clutches themselves burn up and get sticky.. For me it didnt occur all the time either, and even more when the truck was hot/warm. I went to a parking lot to see if it was consistent and it wasnt.. like yours shes a temperamental b*tch.. Also Noticed it was worse when turning up hill at a stop. Did you use motorcraft fluid when you changed the fluid?
Here is a video so you can see the burned up clutch discs at about 5:15 in the video.
