Gotts mod(dwv) or CAI?
Im a little curious about the gotts mod and how exactly that its better then a CAI? As well as the only problem i see with gotts is that wouldnt water get into it since it goes into the fender and well if you go through puddles er something thats no good. Can anyone help me out?
Im definately going to one or the other but i want to know which one to do.

Gotts mod is cheap. The existing tube is fed from the fender so nothing to worry about there. CAI may gain more HP but you will mostly likely need a custom tune to take advantage of it safely.

I have the gotts and i did it because it was inexpensive. if its done right then the mod will go far enough into the fender that water will not be a problem. the factory intake goes into the fender as well so there is no reason to worry about it getting air from the fender. I know you feel and hear more air with the aftermarket CAI but that doesn't necessarily mean more HP. I cant say which is better but i know the gain from a $10 mod (Gotts mod) is worth it.

I just did the gotts mod today. Only took about a half hour to complete once I got the right combination of parts. I ran a 3" thin-walled PVC pipe into the fender, with a rubber boot attached to the factory boot via hose clamp. Shaved one second off 0-60 for around $10... and no unwanted noise. Easy, cheap, I recommend.

I like the Gotts mod, you get increased airflow cheap, and like everyone else said, you won't gain much with a CAI without a tune. Plus, with a CAI you suck in hot engine air versus cold outside air like you do with the Gotts Mod.

What about dust? I live on a farm so would dust hurt the gotts mod at all?
Sorry for these questions just want to know for sure before i try the mod!

The gotts mod has everything in the stock location so the dust will affect it the same way it would the stock intake system. The dust would just dirty up the filter (whether is gotts or stock) so you will need to make sure the filter isnt too dirty. The only thing difference between the stock and gotts is making the part that goes into the fender 3" instead of less than 2". It allows more air to get to the engine.
