As far as HID's go it really comes down to the color but again, belive it or not in the state of NY you can be given a citation for unmatched headlights. Meaning 1 is brighter than the other.

My truck has tinted windows, louder muffler, no front plate and the inspection expired March of last year.
What do you mean by trim ring around the rear license plate? And thanks for all the info 06Beast, it's good to know these things

In your pic it appears that you have what looks like some kind of license plate frame. I know it sounds really stupid but it's actually considered obscuring the plate. Same goes for anything hanging from the rear view mirror

As long as an officer can read the tags state (usually at the top), and the yearly registration decal (if applicable, and located at the top right), then a license plate ring is acceptable.

And of course, any dark tint type cover over the license plate can also be "seen" as an attempt to block the plates numbers/characters when running through red light cameras and such.

Again, these are typically bs violations that most officers won't write but depending on time of night (typically) and location, he will use that as a reason to pull you over. Those silly bs violations and my favorite, no light on rear plate is how I catch 90 % of my unlicensed drivers.

Here in CT, it is not legal to have plug-and-play HID's (not that people usually get stopped for them). Even retrofit HID's with projectors are not legal. Only factory installed.

At the end of the day, having dark tint is kinda like owning a gun. Someone not looking to harm an officer isn't a threat. It's the bad guys in dark tint that you gotta worry about, and the law (tint or gun) means nothing to them. The good guys always 'suffer' from the law more than the bad guys

Very true. I have limo all the way around and the times I have been pulled over before I even stop all the windows are going down. If they are even up. I say 95%( IF my wife is not with me) my windows are always down anyways.
