The programmer will not really help out with the mpgs/ But if you are putting 35's you will want one to fix your speedo cause it will be off. If you did CAI, Exhaust, and Programmer that may help keep what MPGs you are currently getting.

Also, i am pretty sure a lot of the guys here frown on the hypertech, go with i think VMP and Edge or the popular ones around here...I have a superchip and am satisfied with it.

man i was lookin at ur truck it is sweet. i mite do that two tone to mine but what u think of x-line or rhino line? and wish i could afford sum of the stuff u got like the intake, chip and exhaust. dam hadicap mods are expincive and already blew my extra $ on hand controls and that chair. thinking of just chopin my exhaust b4 the muffler so i can have that straight pipe sound tho.

Thanks, Both rhino and x are good products..x, is a newer brand though and is supposedly "better".

too be 100% honest with you, those spray in liners come down to application and applicator. So whenever you see someone local with the spray in, ask where they got it done and see how they like it and how long they have had it so you get an idea for how they hold up...

As far as if i like spray in?? LOVE THEM! I put a lot of stuff in the back of my truck such as my dirt bike and many other things, we currently have 3 trucks in my family...All 3 have spray ins.

You could go straight pipes...Check youtube.com for sound clips...Just search 2004 F150 Straight pipe or something like that, it will give you an idea for how it sounds. Straight would be the cheapest way to go if you are looking for some more sound...I dont know if straight pipes pass emissions here in texas though?? I would think they would, from what I know, emissions are taken care of at the CATS...could be wrong, hopefully someone will chime in and let you know...If not, post a thread asking for knowledge about straight pipes...Lots of guys around here have them.

im also lookin at a hypertech programmer. do they help out with mileage?

I've got the flashpaq which is basically the same as the hypertech, but as far as mileage goes, you've got to play with it a little bit to put together the right tune to gain max mileage. I've always run premium fuel in my truck and my best recorded mileage before I installed the programmer was like 19mpg, but with the programmer set on (87 octane) you can set your truck to get max mileage on the cheaper fuel. The mistake I've been making I think is running premium fuel on the 87 octane tune, I have yet to average better than 16mpg's per tank. I think if I run regular on the 87 octane tune and change my shifting options a little I hope to get over 20mpg's but I'll let you know. If I can't get better than 19 though I'm just gonna remove the programmer unless I feel like driving fast.

I'm not sure why someone has not mentioned it yet, but stay away from the 3 inch leveling kit because it puts lots of stress on the drive line parts and wears them out faster. Most people just go with the 2.5 inch kit and don't have any problems.

I just purchased a 3" Level Kit from autosprings which says it is specifically designed not to cause un needed stress on drive line parts.

I was reading this thread and couldn't believe it had not been mentioned yet. Everything I have saw/read says that the max recommended is 2.5" so that's about as high as I would go.

You can also have your speedo and shift points adjusted by your dealership, mine was going to charge me $80 to do mine, but I ended up going the custom tuning route instead.

I did some digging, Autosprings new product has some "off set" design to keep from anything going rubbing or breaking when at max flex (tire off the ground) so I would say 3" is the max that you can go seeing how everyone one out there offers a 3" kit...Dont understand where all this 2.5 max is coming from. I met a guy with a 3" on his bow tie today and says he loves it.
