Default Got a nail in my tire

Just wanted to ask. What's the best repair for a punctured tread on my 2006 F150 with Michelin LTX-AT tires? Plug patch or dismount and patch on inside? Your advice is appreciated.

IMO take it to a tire shop so they can patch it from the inside. You will never have to worry about it ever again. All the shops around me. Patch them for free, even if you didn't buy them there. (Americas tire co and discount tire)

Discount tire uses a patch and plug which works the best.

Yeah, discount dismounts and puts a plug through and puts a patch over it from the inside

Just shove a plug in it if you know where it is. I use to change tires years ago and I've never had one come out or leak as long as you get it in there and trim the excess plug. I've had patches come back leaking but never a plug they say its better but that's them making money because they have the tire machine.

Self-installed plugs for me. I've never had one come out.

You can do it either way, but you will be just fine with a plug. I plugged the hole from this bad dog over a year ago, with no issues whatsoever.

I carry a plugging kit and compressor. I have worn out many a tire after plugging them. Almost never remove them to plug. Only problem I had was something my wife hit that put a really big hole in the tire. Plug would not stop leaking. We replaced the tire.
