Got my flowmaster put on today
Went over to an exhaust shop that I have taken my previous trucks to in the past, originally looking for an estimate, but couldnt pass up the cost. Had him throw on a flowmaster super 44, SI/SO. I dont know if I will post a video, cuz its not real loud. I like it though. Cost me a $130. Was going have a 3" dia. shorty tip put on, but he didnt have any, so I figured I will just get one from the dealership.

I asked the same question today, and I was told by the owner of the exhaust shop, that when the patent ran out on the 40 series, they had to change the name. As far as sound and funtion, very minimal difference. He said you actually cant tell. He didnt have any 40 series, so thats when he recommended the super 44. I almost went with the 50 series, but he said about 95% of the people went with the 44 series. I have never had a muffler in the past on my trucks. Its always been straight piped. But I like this setup. Now I just need to get my exhaust manifold leak on passenger side fixed, and a CAI, and I will be sounding good.

The exhaust debates will go on and on, lol! It really depends what sound you personally like. You tube is your friend here. You will find many many vids of f-150's with different exhaust set-ups.

I went with Magnaflow, got it installed today. SI/DO with about 6 in turndowns. Sounds great, really deep and pretty quite. I had Flowmaster on my 97 and it sounded really good, I just didn't want anything that loud for this truck. Performance I don't know how they match up but from what I've seen, Magnaflow is much quieter than Flowmaster.

I had a magnaflow cat-back on my truck for two years. I never liked it too well and had some issues with it along the way. I then tried the super 44 and liked it alot better but I wanted an overall kit that was much nicer then the magnaflow so I installed a roush offroad which I love!!
