I bought the Edge Evolution back in 2008 and it really did not satisfy the itch it was claiming to cure($500) later. It said on the 93 tune it would gain 35 hp, bull it was more like 8hp gain and slamming the stock trans. I had the dash pod and all that jaz(the light annoyed me), is this Gryphon programmer worth it? Or is it just an Edge with different stickers.

the gryphon becomes worth it when you get custom tunes. if you have a full exhaust system or a full intake or both, or a supercharger, or you want to pull more, or you want better mpg, or you want to personally mess with fuel and spark curves, thats what the gryphons for. if you have a stock truck and just want a tuner to change the tire size in the computer so the trans shifts right, firm up trans shifts, and watch temperatures, then get a edge. but if you want to be able to change up the tune to take advantage of your better flowing intake or exhaust, or whatever you have done to your truck, then get a gryphon.

I got the Gryphon so I could order custom tunes, I think I have ready every post on this forum about tuners and it seemed the way to go. I went with the standard Gryphon because I like real numbers over pretty gauges, I know the CS can do that also but why pay more for something I really won't use. Also with the standard Gryphon the mounting kit is included....not extra. It will come with edge canned tunes at first, then when your custom tunes are ready you will be able to download them across the net.

Hope that helps, I just got mine so I am a noob at it myself.

Um, on their(PHP) website you can get PHP's custom tunes on a stock CTS Edge through Edges fusion software. So basically you do not need a gryphon to get custom tunes. Performancetruckproducts.com has the CTS for $530.10 the pod mount for $36 and the pod clip attachment for the CTS for $9. I am still trying to confirm all of this. Total $575.10
