Goodyear AT/S
Anybody have an opinion/review of these? I see they come in 2 different load ranges. (ab and c) what are your thoughts on the load ranges for a mostly commuter truck. I do tow but not over 3-4000 lbs and not often or far.

While I have Goodyear DuraTracs i personally think the AT/S tires suck. My roomate had them on his 4wd Explorer in college and they were over all crappy tires. Felt very mushy on the road and the tread life was awful. I think he got 25,000 - 30,000 out of them? not sure what they would be like on a heavier truck.

I had them on my '97 & 2000 4x4 Expeditions. I liked them but they are pretty soft. No problem with towing though, just tread life. They were great off road! With these you must rotate regularly.

I have the 275/70/17's Goodyear Wrangler AT/S now. I got them when the Continental 255/60/17's (street tires) i had from the dealer wore out. I only got about 35,000 miles on the Continentals and they were a POS let me tell ya! I have only had the AT/S's for about 10,000 miles an have seen no wearing but i have rotated them. They work really good on the boat ramps, on the slick mud and in the snow. My truck is 2wd and i saw a big difference in grip in the mud with the AT/S's. They have worked great for me, hope they last at least longer than the ones that i had on to start with. I dont know what people are talking about when they say that the AT/S's are soft. Not sure what that means.
