Is this a good deal, Tuner and CAI?
I have located a package deal......and S&B cold air intake plus an SCT X3 tuner....package deal, for $499.95 together....free shipping.
Shall I go for it?

Will they provide custom tunes for you at that price? If so go for it. I paid $400 shipped for my X3 with unlimited tunes.
I was looking at that intake too until I found this one for $99 shipped:

I think they will....supposedly it comes with 3 dyno tunes....2 performance and a mileage tune. It claims that I have free updates and downloads, and can go get custom tunes from an SCT dealer or them. I'll have to look into that a bit deaper, I suppose.
I haven't heard too much about the S&B intakes, but I do like the sealed air chamber, where it gets strictly cold air an no air from the engine compartment.

Inaugural TOTM
My guess is that the price probably does not include 3 custom tunes. The Xcal III comes with 3 canned tunes (which in this case is probably what they are referring to as the "dyno tunes") and you have the option of adding 3 custom tunes as well. The fact that they told you;
makes me believe you're not getting custom tunes for that price. It's still not a bad deal though because you can contact Troyer Performance and they will write you 3 custom tunes for $150. If you don't want to wait the almost 2 months to get Troyer tunes then VMP is another one that gets alot of good reviews from users. Troyer specializes in tuning our F150's while VMP's specialty is Mustangs, but they also tune our F150's. My advice is go with Troyer, you'll be very happy you did.

Yeah, I know. That's the part I am gonna research and find out for sure.
It seems from what I have read that the major difference between the X3 and the livewire is the display, really. It seems both have the same capabilities and that you can get the data logging from both...the X3 by USB cable and the livewire instantaneously. Cool, no doubt, but I'm not sure that the "display" is really worth the extra $$.
I gotta get my wife back to work so's I can get some more toys.....LOL!!! I can't wait to order this setup.
