Default Good Deal or Not?

I found a 2004 F150 4x4 Lariat Extended Cab 6.5 Ft Box, 99k, Clean Title, Whipple Supercharged, 6 in. lift, 35 M/Ts, Clean Body, Clean Interior. He said he always uses 93 octane and hes just starting to use fully synthetic oil,he said never heard the famous 5.4 cam phaser tick, and it is a bad seal on the oil pan sensor.

He wants $8700

Few Concerns:
1. This truck is still prone to cam phaser tick, should i be worried about that?
2. Being supercharged use i be worried about the life left in this truck?
3. How much different is maintaining a supercharged truck compared to normal, can your local ford dealer take care of that?

Any other advice is always welcomed

Others may disagree, however I'd never buy a used vehicle with a supercharger on it. There is a reason it is on there and was probably/possibly used/abused, possibly not. You have no way of knowing. I would not worry with the 5.4 engine although at 100k I believe there are some maintenance you would want to get done. Of course anything supercharged has less of a life than not, but how long noone could tell you until it craps.

That sound like a heck of a deal.
I would not worry about CAM phasers whatsoever.
Depends on how the oil is being fed to the S/C, but then again it's not much to maintain the S/C at all. I have one not on F150 but on a BMW, the fluid for S/C is a stand alone type. I have to replace the fluid at every 7500 miles and that is it.

I'd def check the compression in each cylinder to really find out how the thing is holding up. I'd also look for some of the more common issues like the exhaust manifold studs being snapped off, but if the truck has been taken care of, maintained and the motor still has proper compression I'd go for it.

If I ever have an opportunity to put a S/C in my truck I would in a heart beat.

So how much is a S/C nowadays?

Sounds too good to be true to me.. If the truck runs solid and drives straight, then I'd buy it.. If you don't buy it, PM me the deal so I can! $8700 is extremely cheap IMHO, and it's likely pricing in some problems... Let's see some pics!

99k is peanuts on a 3v, as long you keep up with maintenance.
The fact that its Supercharged and lifted is just a big plus.. It sounds like one of those rarer modded truck deals, that crosses the mod line just far enough to actually boost its value instead of hurt it. So the price makes me skeptical.. A supercharger is a great supporting mod to lifting.

If you decide to buy, make sure you go to his bank and have every thing settle right at the bank with a loan officer. No exception.

$8,000 for a 2004 f150 with almost 100k miles and has a professional suspension lift? I would check a lot to make sure someone is not trying to push off on u that could cause u a lot of problems soon....but if everything checks out, then u got a great deal!!!
