Good buy? concerns?
Hi all, I know this is my first post but ive been browsing / researching for awhile and joined a little while ago because i knew sooner or later i would have a question or comment
Just sold my 2001 F250 Diesel 7.3 4x4 XLT Crew Cab Long bed with 356,000 miles It was chipped with turbo back exhaust, intake, and a few other tweeks and mods.
Decided I wanted to step down a notch for the next truck and go a little smaller but certainly did not want to sacrifice the Large Cab
First decision: Crew Max Cab
Second I did use the 8' bed quite often but lately it has been less and less and as a DD and all it could get cumbersome parking it and fitting in places
Second decision: Size of bed did not really matter but NOT 8'
Tow capacity / Fuel capacity / MPG are mostly a non factor now since i no longer tow regurlarly or drive 1000 miles a week like I used to
Third decision: No more diesel with 15qt oil changes, long warmups and higher maintenance costs
Wanted Rock solid reliability with long life expectancy. I take amazing care of my vehicles and want them to return the favor
Fourth Desicion: Buy for reliabilty with cost and history all factored in
Fifth decision: Need to get excited to drive my new truck, love the looks, love the features, and be happy to own it.
Sixth: 4x4 is a must as i would rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it
Taking all the above into consideration I narrowed down choices to the Tundra Crew Max 4x4
F150 crew Cab Max
I Have a budget of 25k out the door, all said and done.
Wish list: sunroof, Leather seats, white or black exterior, Under 50K miles
So I started to narrow stuff down and look at trucks and obviously with my budget, wants and all it narrowed down the picking quick.
Saying all that here is a truck im looking at:

Confirmed Car fax one owner. Talked them down to 22,000 out the door but I live in MD so i will be paying taxes/taxes/registration and all out of pocket once i bring it down and register it here.

West Herr Ford of Hamburg

westherr.com
Engine compression checked
Intake manifold gasket replaced
Vacuum hose(s) repaired
Engine/powertrain computer/module checked
Throttle body replaced
Fuel system checked
Any Ideas of what that may have been anything common?
Ive seen the spark plug issues Im a Big DIY guy so will be doing 90% of the maintenance myself.
any issues, problems, concerns, things i missed? Price seem right? Anything is appreciated.
Here is the old Play toy, and the Old truck that I just sold
445whp
395tq
Built suspension, stock block Twin turboed, 350z. Was a Blast!! 2 seats doesnt work for a family of 3 and now with another baby on the way made even less sense to keep with it already almost never being driven
Love the Forum so far. Im no stranger to them and know how valuable the information is on here.
Thanks in advance for any help!!

Depends on miles but ya that's a good deal. I paid 26 for mine but it had extras on it and was a lariat with almost all options. From all my shopping around f150 really hold their value and are great for long term especially when they are under 50 k average price will be around 20 to 25 from what all I saw. I don't like Toyota personally but that's more preference. You will love that truck Bought mine last August and haven't had one complaint, rides awesome and the leather interior is great.

I think kozal posted this originally, but this is an argument against the Tundra, the F150 is obviously a safer vehicle.
Also that FX4 looks awesome! Take it for a spin, it sure is pretty though!

Look at the sticky thread on engine build date I think you might have the updated heads with a one piece spark plug. If its replaced then its good but that's my opinion. Check it it's still under warranty. When I bought mine it came with a warranty.
