I'm pretty sure it will just show you the build date of the truck...which will not help you unless the build date of your truck is well into 08, in which case you would have the updated motor.

I just entered my VIN in there and it showed truck build date...mine was built 04/18/08 and has the re-designed heads..

Yep... just don't know how many old motors were stuck into early 08 trucks..

Mine says a build date of 10/1/07, guess I have the old motor?

That's the question I have. I figure mid 08 and on is good.

But if the spark plugs were changed, how do they know which is needed ???

Look at the color of your COP boot's... Brown boot's will be the up-dated plugs SP509's ... black boot's will be the old 2 piece plug SP515 I believe... I just replaced my plugs/boot's and springs last Friday...

I followed the link and entered my VIN. I found out my 2007 Lariat was built in 2006 and I've never had any issues with it. What did took me by surprise was that my truck was built on my birthday! I was exactly 16 when they were building it hahaha craziness
