Default Going to spray em...

Well I'm going to spray my tail lights, but im not sure of everything I need... I searched some topics and see people used, the spray on tint, tape, sandpaper, and clear coat, window cleaners, buffers...

Can someone help me list up everything I will need, here is what I know of so far:

-VHT Spray on Tint (How many bottles do I need?)
-Window Cleaner
-Paper Towels
-Duck Tape (to tape over the reverse lights)
-Newspaper (for laying the lights down on)
-Clear coat (which brand? and how many bottles do I need?)
-
-
-About 4 hours of my time

I'm also considering doing this to the headlights I'm about to purchase... so if you have any tips, please feel free to share em =)

u forogt sand paper! clean them with a wax and grease remover/rubbing alchol FIRST.wet sand them with some 1500 grit to knock the shine off. spray them side by side making sure to do even coats and the SAME on the both of them. reg. masking tape is all youll need, duct tape should never be used on anything automotive. a can of VHT and a can of clear should be plenty.

If you don't have a buffer like he has don't wetsand after your final layer of clear, you will never get that kind of shine if you do wetsand and just polish by hand.

I did mine about 2 weeks ago and kept notes:

[1] Remove taillights
[2] Wash with warm soap and water, degreaser soap of some type
[3] Taped off back up lights using automotive performance 3M green tape (has finest paint line)
[4] Soft wet sand with 400 grit paper. You want to insure you sand all areas, nothing should be shinny, light should be hazzy when done. No need to sand hard.
[5] Wipe with clean rag so remove all dust.
[6] Applied 4 "light" coats of VHT NightShade (Pep-Boys carries this for around $12.00) waiting 20min between each coat.
[7] After finial coat I waited 2 1/2 hours then wet sanded with 1500 grit paper
[8] Wipe with clean rag and insure all is dry
[9] Applied 3-4 "heavy" coats of Krylon Fusion for plastic Clear UV. You can use others but this was my preference.

All items were purchased at Pep-boys with a total of $37.98. Total time took about 6 hours.

After the lights curried over night, close to 24 hours, I grabbed the mini bullet polish bit and threw some plastic polish on them and gave them a double shine.
