Default Going from Chevy to Ford :)

Well, I've finally decided to upgrade to a full size and am looking at buying an '05 F150 FX4...plus I'm sick of everything breaking and the lack of power in my Chevy Colorado. I'm going to be towing my 18' bass boat every weekend. How have they been for y'all that tow regularly? I know about the plug issue, but are there any other common problems with them?

I have an 04 FX4 and have had zero problems. Bought it with 35k bout to roll over 100k.

Of course I have not tackled the plugs yet.

Not sure if much changed 04-05.

Thanks...the one I'm looking at is just shy of 83k miles. Was there a recall issued for the injector problem?

I traded in my 05 silverado 1500 2wd for my 06 f150 xlt 4x4 about 6 months ago, and I'll tell ya, I don't think I'll ever buy a GM again. The Ford is so much nicer, rides better, and looks better.

Yeah I've been loyal to the bowtie my whole life...until now. I love the way the 150s look too. If I do get this F150 I plan on putting on a CAI, exhaust, and a programmer like you mentioned. I'll have to look into the EDGE.

there is a TSB and if you have problems ford will pick up the table, only If you have the problems....so you could be in the middle of nowhere and it could go bad, not something i would wanna deal with. sometimes it just makes them idle funny or somethings it hydrolocks the engine up

Had my FX4 since May. 91K on it. Had a couple of small issues that were left over from the last owner. I still have to do the spark plug replacement. Getting the courage to try...hope none break!!! I also came from a GM, full size though. I like the Ford much better. Good luck

Yeah i had an avalanche for about a year. My dad has a 97 with about 200K and still running strong, that is why i went back to Ford, 06 F150. It has so much more power, rides great, looks so much better, and it is so much more truck that its not even funny. You will not regret leaving that chevy in the dust.
