Or a 3in leveling kit can get you there.. with the right wheels.

With the right rims you can, but why would you want no flex room? Imo you should leave it at 33's so your suspension can articulate properly, and you wont have to regear

35's have never been recommended for 2wd, I just put the rancho quick lift on mine and added a 1" daystar boost on top of them, and lift shackles in rear. Topped off with 33's general grabber red letters. No need for any bigger, if you feel you need to go bigger, than go buy a 4wd that can handle them.

i have a 2wd with a 6inch lift and I am running 35s, if i turn the wheel all the way to one side and go over a decent bump, it rubs against the cab on the inside.

and my wheels specs are only 17x9 with a -12mm offset.
But its only happened to me no more than 5 times.

You can fit a 35" on a 2wd but if you hit a large bump or go offroad at all you will rub and could easily damage your truck. Just because you can "visibly" put 35s on does not mean it will work and be ok. The reason a 4X4 can fit them is because they are already 2" higher than a 2wd from stock. Put a 2" level on a 2wd and it is the height of a stock 4X4 in the front, hence why a stock 4X4 can fit 33s safely and a 2wd with a 2" level can.
