Gettin past the governor

driving is a privilege, not a right. if its not safe to pass going under 80 mph, then don't pass.
the "escape" scenario is flawed as well. chances are, the "bad guy" is perfectly capable of going just as fast as you. the faster you go to "escape," the more you put innocent people around you at risk.
i don't care if you mother is dying in the hospital. what if you kill someone else's mother trying to get there 30 seconds faster?
i used to drive fast, a LOT. then i saw someone passing multiple cars on a narrow road, going about 75 in a 55. they ran an ambulance off the road, that was transporting a patient. it was then that i realized that no hurry was worth having something like that on my conscience.

you just walked into a room with almost 32,000 people inside, and asked how to break the law and endanger people's lives. some responses wont be cheerful.

Sorry, Louisiana, not trying to 'flame'. My previous post was meant to be sarcastic. I wouldn't dare use my weapon in such an agressive manner. Nor would you use your weapon (truck) in an agressive manner. In Arizona, where I'm from, agressive driving is illegal, as it should be.
I'm just trying to make a point that excessive speed is as dangerous, in my opinion, as brandishing a firearm. When people blow by me on the road at 20, 30, 40 mph beyond the limit, I consider them to be putting me at risk.
Anything beyond 80 is excessive/illegal unless you're on the autobahn. I guess the point I'm trying to make is, overriding the governor is a type of premeditated negligence, it's there for a good reason.
Not being personal here, just trying to get my point across. I respect your opinion, and would like you to stay alive, and out of jail, so you can keep expressing it.
Peace.

Thanks Tony.
I drove like an idiot when I was younger. One day I realized how I would feel if I killed some child or someone's mother from my negligence. I'm ashamed of the things I did and was lucky enough not to get caught or to hurt anyone.
It's amazing how easy it is to just back off and take it a bit slower, and get there in one piece without hurting or scaring someone to death.

Ok. Time to end this thread. The OP's question was answered in post number 7 and from then until now, this has been an ethics battle.
Did Ford intend the F-series truck to go over 96mph? No. Should they (or any 2.5 ton vehicle) be going that fast anywhere? No. Are the tires/suspension/brakes rated or even safe for those speeds? No. Is it a hell of alot easier to lose control in an F-series truck doing 100mph than in a Lambo doing 200mph? Yes.
IMHO, these "tuners" should be federally mandated and regulated to leave manufacturer embedded speed limiters in check. They are there for a reason.
